I think I'm going to hold off on NSFW for a couple of weeks. Give everyone time to get situated over here and all that. I don't want to abandon the project, but there wasn't much in the way of interest going into the first show. It basically Monk and I doing everything, which is pretty much the opposite of what I'd intended.

We could try giving it a more fluid schedule (post shows as they're completed), but I'm worried that such an approach would simply lead to no one sending in anything anyway.

Discuss. Or else.

So, who is playing Skyrim? My wife and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. What we've really been digging is that there's so many ways to measure success in this game that we can both claim "best of" status in something. For example, while I am extremely good at leveling characters and solving the puzzles, my wife managed to destroy the main quest with a Level 28 character and is now Thane in 3 cities.

I'm also discovering that the combat system is incredibly nuanced and the "Favorites" system lets you adapt your interface to quickly use literally any combat style. I have made 3 characters so far and each one has a wholly unique combat style - one uses stealth, sneak attacks and bows by using Conjuration magic to distract opponents, one is a power-hitter with a minor in Alteration (because Heavy Armor + Stoneflesh = WIN) and one uses self-enchanted one-handed weapons in conjunction with switching his off-hand between a wide variety of Destruction and Restoration spells and a shield to adapt to any situation.

The memes are also awesome. I was once going to list all the great In-jokes this game has given us, but then I took an arrow to the knee. Wobbajack.

Video games and IHL: how should the Movement take action?

While the Movement works vigorously to promote international humanitarian law (IHL) worldwide, there is also an audience of approximately 600 million gamers who may be violating IHL in the virtual world. Exactly how video games influence individuals is a hotly debated topic, but for the first time, Movement partners discussed their role and responsibility to take action against violations of IHL in video games. In a side event, participants were asked: “what should we do, and what is the most effective method?” While National Societies shared their experiences and opinions, there is clearly no simple answer. There is, however, an overall consensus and motivation to take action.
